Firefox 23 Final

Firefox 23 Final has been placed on Mozilas FTP Server, but no announcement has been made for now. Probably they are waiting for the binaries to propagate to several server before they will make the announcement.

Whats new on this release? Well, its not that exciting as Firefox 22, but still there are some room for improvements. Here they are:

  • Mixed content blocking enabled to protects users from man-in-the-middle attacks and eavesdroppers on HTTPS pages (learn more)
  • Improved about:memorys functional UI
  • Enabled DXVA2 on Windows Vista+ to accelerate H.264 video decoding
  • Updated Firefox Logo
  • "Load images automatically", "Enable JavaScript", and Always show the tab bar" checkboxes removed from preferences and reset to defaults
  • Simplified interface for notifications of plugin installation
  • Users can now switch to a new search provider across the entire browser
  • CSP policies using the standard syntax and semantics will now be enforced
  • Implemented a global browser console
  • Social share functionality
  • HTML5 <input type="range"> form control implemented
  • Write more accessible pages on touch interfaces with new ARIA role for key buttons
  • Added unprefixed requestAnimationFrame
  • New feature in toolbox: Network Monitor
  • Dropped blink effect from text-decoration: blink; and completely removed <blink> element
I think the biggest change are the new Mixed content blocking feature and also the Network Monitor. They protect the user and also help developers to have a better understanding about the network activity on a site.

    The Firefox project (formerly Firebird, which was formerly Phoenix) is a redesign of Mozillas browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform.

    Firefox is a small, fast and very easy to use browser that offers many advantages over other web browsers, such as the ability to block pop-up windows and the tabbed browsing.

    NOTE: Firefox ESR is intended for groups who deploy and maintain the desktop environment in large organizations.

    Here are some features of Firefox:
    · Comprehensive popup controls to keep unwanted advertising off your desktop;
    · A tab browsing mode that lets you open several pages in a single window, allowing you to load links in the background without leaving the page youre on;
    · Integrated search (powered by Google);
    · Industry leading accessibility with Find As You Type - find links and page text by simply typing;
    · Simplified privacy controls that let you cover your tracks more effectively;
    · A streamlined browser window that lets you see more of the page than any other browser while at the same time being more configurable;
    · A large variety of free downloadable extensions and themes that add specific functionality and visual changes to the browser.

    Requirements:
    · Pentium 4 or newer processor that supports SSE2
    · 512MB of RAM
    · 200MB of hard drive space

    Dweller 1 23 0 Beta 2

    As many of you pointed out the first beta resulted in too many missed attacks and too wide damage distribution in relation to weapon base damage. Ive uploaded a new beta with some changes that will make things more reasonable again.

    One important change is that Ive increased base attack for all player classes (I forgot to take into account that attack was dropped from melee weapons). Another big change is that Ive tweaked damage distribution and to hit resolution a little bit more. This is how things work now:

    • All weapons have a base Damage stat
    • Damage is increased by 1% for each point of Attack
    • Damage is decreased by 1% for each point of Defense on the target
    • Damage is modified by attack roll - defence roll % (this is a representation of how well placed the attack was and how well the target managed to twist and turn to mitigate incoming damage)
    • Dodge and Block still happen before damage resolution
    Please give the new version a try and let me know your thoughts!
