Mozilla Firefox - lebih cepat, lebih aman, lebih mudah untuk menggunakan dan sporti tampilan barunya, rilis Firefox terbaru ini menetapkan standar baru untuk browser web inovasi. Tiga kunci tujuan untuk Firefox 4: Membuat browser lebih cepat, membangun dukungan untuk standar web yang lebih kuat seperti HTML5, dan memberikan pengguna kendali penuh atas identitas online mereka di web sosial. Firefox 6 Is Available in the Official Ubuntu 11 04 Repositories
Firefox 6 (the most secured web browser in the world, kidding, but its pretty darn good though, right? :D) was available for Ubuntu 10.10 and 10.04 users even before it was officially available for the Natty users.
And if you havent disabled your automated updates in Ubuntu Linux, then as soon as they release it you should have it automatically install it. But since I have manually disabled the update manager because it uses too much of your bandwidth which can result in a cluttered YouTube videos :D (kidding, again, but I do have it disabled for other reasons)...
Ive also been a bit busy yesterday and until I manually check this morning I didnt know it was available to Natty users. Anyhow, to install it (in my humble opinion, I think unlike with other releases, FF6 is well worth the update because as promised by Mozilla, it loads itself pretty faster than the previous versions) , perhaps you should re-enable the update manager t OR
just fireup your Terminal window and enter the below command to install the sucker!.
sudo apt-get install firefoxIf youd prefer a more cleaner installation, then first remove your current Firefox browser completely (make sure to take back-ups of your Bookmarks and other naughty stuff), then use the below command first.
sudo apt-get purge firefox
That should do it.

Firefox 23 Final
Firefox 23 Final has been placed on Mozilas FTP Server, but no announcement has been made for now. Probably they are waiting for the binaries to propagate to several server before they will make the announcement.
Whats new on this release? Well, its not that exciting as Firefox 22, but still there are some room for improvements. Here they are:
- Mixed content blocking enabled to protects users from man-in-the-middle attacks and eavesdroppers on HTTPS pages (learn more)
- Improved about:memorys functional UI
- Enabled DXVA2 on Windows Vista+ to accelerate H.264 video decoding
- Updated Firefox Logo
- "Load images automatically", "Enable JavaScript", and Always show the tab bar" checkboxes removed from preferences and reset to defaults
- Simplified interface for notifications of plugin installation
- Users can now switch to a new search provider across the entire browser
- CSP policies using the standard syntax and semantics will now be enforced
- Implemented a global browser console
- Social share functionality
- HTML5 <input type="range"> form control implemented
- Write more accessible pages on touch interfaces with new ARIA role for key buttons
- Added unprefixed requestAnimationFrame
- New feature in toolbox: Network Monitor
- Dropped blink effect from text-decoration: blink; and completely removed <blink> element

Firefox started to become immensely popular with it registering 100 million download within year of launch of its version 1.0 . The popularity continued to increase with 1.5 Version Registering 2 Million Download within first 36 Hours of release. Firefox in short has been a phenomenon both on Windows and Linux . It has been one of the biggest success story of the open source movement. Now it occupies close to 10 % of Web Browser market quiet a achievement considering it turned mature just few years back. Lets examine some of the features that make firefox so immensely popular
In Internet explorer every now and then we have been frustrated with the popup advertising windows but firefox comes with a unique tool that enables one to block popup ads when it is enabled.

Also they offer 500 $ and Mozilla T-Shirt to anyone who discover bugs in the mozilla source code under its Bugs Bounty Program.
But one of the most powerfull and popular feature of firefox is its ability to extend firefox functionality via the use of extension which can be installed with quiet ease and there are extensions available for a variety of purposes. Installing firefox extensions is as easy as clicking their link using firefox.
Here I demonstrate installing of popular extension (DownthemAll (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/201/))which is a kinda Download Manager.
1. You first go to the webpage using firefox : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/201/2. There Click on the Install Button a Wizard appears follow the instruction and install it accordingly.
3, After Installation the nasty part restarting Firefox for extension to become active
Firefox is extremely small in size as compared to IE . It is just 4.9 MB as compared to IE 6 which is over 75 MB in size. Small size dosent mean it has any less feature than IE but it dosent come preinstalled with JVM , Shockwave,Flash etc plugins which have to be installed externally.
Further Firefox supports a large number of Spoken languages thus making it truly international and helping it to reach a large non-english speaking public .
In short I would say Firefox is a perfect getaway for users of Internet Explorer who have been frustrated by bugs,viruses,adwares,popups and for those who just want to stand out of the crowd of IE using people.
